Law Office of Steven Louros - FAQ

FAQs

Your questions answered. We are here to guide you through every step of your case.

What happens now that I’ve hired the Law Office?
We begin investigating your case immediately. We will notify insurance companies and opposing parties, gather records, and develop a strategy tailored to your injuries and losses.
Should I speak with the insurance companies?
No. Once you’ve hired our office, do not speak with insurance companies, investigators, or defense attorneys. If anyone contacts you, politely decline and refer them to our office.
How should I continue my medical treatment?
Follow your doctors’ instructions and attend all appointments. Gaps in treatment can hurt your case. Let us know about any new doctors, diagnoses, or changes in your condition.
What documents should I send to your office?
Please forward:
  • Medical bills and treatment records
  • Insurance letters or emails
  • Wage loss or disability paperwork
  • Photos or videos related to your injuries
  • Any court papers or legal notices
If you’re unsure whether something is important, send it anyway.
How often will I hear from my attorney?
We provide updates at key stages of your case and are available if you have questions. While there may be periods of limited activity, rest assured your case is actively being handled behind the scenes.
Will I have to file a lawsuit?
Not always. Many cases resolve through settlement. If a lawsuit becomes necessary, we will explain the process in advance and guide you through every step so you can make an informed decision.
What if I move, change jobs, or change phone numbers?
Please notify us immediately of any changes to your:
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Employment status
This ensures we can reach you and accurately calculate damages.
Can I post about my accident or injuries on social media?
We strongly advise not posting about your accident, injuries, or physical activities on social media. Insurance companies monitor posts and will use them against you.
What happens if I receive money related to my case?
Do not deposit or cash any checks related to your accident without contacting us first. This includes insurance checks, settlements, or reimbursement payments.
How are attorney’s fees and costs handled?
Our fee is contingent upon recovery and is explained in your retainer agreement. Case-related costs are advanced by the firm and reimbursed from any settlement or verdict, as outlined in your agreement.
